Colwell Real Estate
A most beautiful municipality awaits you in the form of Essa. Essa is a region stretching just to the southwest of Barrie and south of Collingwood and east of Glencairn. Essa’s municipality limits encompass such towns as Angus (Essa’s largest community), Baxter, and Thornton.
West Essa is one of many small towns that were incorporated some time ago that helped to form Ontario’s various municipalities as they are today. On top of this, Essa is a very lively region as a whole, containing a public library in Angus, 4 public schools and 1 secondary school (and 2 French Catholic schools), along with a recreational facility.
Regarding homes in the municipality of Essa, you will have access to a numerous quantity of sizeable and appealing family homes, semi-detached homes, bungalows, detached homes, and even a handful of new builds. Through checking out these available homes for sale, you will find that there is a lot of spacious appeal with these homes, as well as the fact that they are all set in prime locations.
If you are a nature-lover who’s just simply looking to get out a little more and experience nature at its best, then the best way to do it without leaving your region is to look at either of the 2 nature trails that run through Essa (the Pine River Trail and the Thornton-Cookstown Trans Canada Trail).
One of the things that makes Essa such a lively location is that it lies right next to the Highway 400, which is a major highway from Toronto to Barrie and beyond (all the way up to Parry Sound before it becomes another highway that goes almost all the way to Sudbury). Being so close to the 400 means that Essa is a hot spot for tourists, as well as locals simply traveling around and enjoying themselves, so this means that places like Angus and Thornton are generally lively during tourist season (great news for new residents that are opening or relocating their businesses).
If you do indeed wish to get into Toronto for a day or two of shopping and exploration, then your best bet would be the previously mentioned route: Getting on the Highway 400 (just east of Thornton) and heading south. Doing so brings you right into Toronto’s northern region, and if you keep going past where the Highway 400 becomes a road called Black Creek Dr., and you merge Black Creek at Keele St., you will find yourself right on the lakeshore practically before you know it!
